Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

  • 1 cup canola oil
  • 1 cup whole-wheat pastry flour plus 2 tablespoons, divided
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs, divided
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon, whiskey or Calvados
