Bali Steaks, by way of Holland
Ingredients
- 2 filet mignon steaks, 1 inch thick (about 6oz each)
- salt, pepper, and garlic powder to your taste
- 4 tablespoons butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 shallot, finely minced
- 3 inch portion of ginger, peeled and finely minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red chili flake
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
- 1/8 teaspoon ground clove
- zest and juice of 1 small lime
- 2 teaspoons light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 cup shredded coconut (lightly sweetened or unsweetened is best)
- white rice, for serving
