Roasted Cherry Chocolate-Almond Ice Cream

Ingredients

  • 1 quart ( 1 1/2 pounds) cherries, stems removed
  • Kosher salt
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ounces dark chocolate (about 70% cocoa), chopped fine
  • 2 ounces roasted almonds, toasted and chopped fine
