Rosemary And Toasted-Caraway Shortbread

Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) chilled unsalted butter, cut into ½” pieces
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh rosemary, plus whole leaves
  • 1 large egg, beaten to blend
  • Coarse sanding sugar (for sprinkling)
