Round Steak with Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 3 lb boneless beef top round steak, cut into serving-size pieces
  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2-2/3 cups water
  • 2 cans (10-3/4 oz each) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • dumplings:
  • 3 cups king arthur unbleached all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup dried minced onion
  • 2 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 1-1/2 tsp celery salt
  • 1-1/2 tsp poultry seasoning
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1-1/2 cups milk
  • 6 tbsp canola oil
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
