- 2 to 3 tablespoons cornstarch

- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- Dash pepper
