Shortcut Chicken And Dumplings Recipe
Ingredients
- For the stew:
- 6-8 chicken thighs with skin
- 2 tbs butter
- 1 large onion; chopped
- 4 ribs celery; chopped
- 6 carrots, peeled
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 large garlic cloves; minced
- 4 italian parsley sprigs
- 2-3 tsp thyme
- Salt to taste. pepper to taste
- For the dumplings:
- 2 cups unbleached flour, i use king arthur
- 1 tbs baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup whole milk
- 3 tbs reserved chicken fat (or unsalted butter)
