Shortcut Chicken And Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients

  • For the stew:
  • 6-8 chicken thighs with skin
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1 large onion; chopped
  • 4 ribs celery; chopped
  • 6 carrots, peeled
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 large garlic cloves; minced
  • 4 italian parsley sprigs
  • 2-3 tsp thyme
  • Salt to taste. pepper to taste
  • For the dumplings:
  • 2 cups unbleached flour, i use king arthur
  • 1 tbs baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 tbs reserved chicken fat (or unsalted butter)
