Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small yellow onion , cut into 1/2-inch halfmoons
  • 3 green cabbage leaves , cut into 2-inch squares
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced
  • 1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 pound (about 3 cups) garaetteok (cylindrical Korean rice cakes )
  • 2 scallions , ends trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 3 tablespoons gochujang
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce , plus more to taste
  • 2 teaspoons sugar , plus more to taste
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
