Chocolate Hazelnut Truffle Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 teaspoon hazelnut extract
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 8 ounces semisweet chocolate
- 1/2 cup crushed hazelnuts
Instructions

Step 1:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add the eggs, milk, oil, vanilla extract, and hazelnut extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.

Carefully stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth. The batter will be thin.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped semisweet chocolate. Stir until smooth.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread half of the truffle filling on top. Add the second layer and top with the remaining filling.
