Cinnamon Swirl Holiday Cake

Ingredients
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 4 large Eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons Milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
Instructions

Step 1:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

In another bowl, cream the butter until smooth. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and buttermilk.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans. Pour half of the batter into each pan.

In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon. Sprinkle half of this mixture over the batter in each pan, then swirl with a knife.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, turn them out onto wire racks to cool completely.
