Ingredients
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 4 large Eggs
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 tablespoons lavender buds
- 1 tablespoon Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup honey
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Step 1:
In a small saucepan, combine the milk and lavender buds. Heat over low heat until warm, then remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes.
-
Step 2:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
-
Step 3:
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the lavender-infused milk.
-
Step 4:
Divide the batter evenly between three greased 9-inch round cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Step 5:
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar, honey, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
-
Step 6:
Once the cakes are completely cooled, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of honey buttercream on top, then add the second layer. Repeat with the third layer and frost the top and sides of the cake.
-
Step 7:
Decorate the cake with additional lavender buds and honey drizzles if desired. Slice and serve to your guests.
