Nurturing Nest Baby Shower Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large Eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup Milk
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup heavy cream
- as needed pastel food coloring
- as desired edible decorations
Instructions

Step 1:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Add the softened butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.

Divide the batter evenly between two greased 9-inch round cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

Remove the cakes from the oven and let them cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Gradually add the heavy cream and beat until fluffy.

Place one cake layer on a serving plate. Spread a layer of frosting on top, then place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the cake.
