Torta della Nonna
Torta della Nonna is a traditional Italian custard tart, featuring a buttery pastry crust filled with rich pastry cream and topped with pine nuts and powdered sugar. This classic dessert is perfect for any occasion, offering a delightful balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
- 3 large Eggs
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup pine nuts
- for dusting powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
Instructions

Step 1:
In a large bowl, mix the flour, butter, and sugar until crumbly. Add 1 egg and mix until a dough forms.

Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

In a saucepan, heat the milk with vanilla and lemon zest. In a bowl, whisk together the remaining eggs, sugar, and cornstarch. Gradually add the hot milk to the egg mixture, then return to the saucepan and cook until thickened.

On a floured surface, roll out the chilled dough to fit a tart pan. Press the dough into the pan and trim the edges.
