Vanilla Bean and Almond Harmony Cake

Ingredients
- 2 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups Granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3 large Eggs
- 1, split and scraped vanilla bean
- 1 teaspoon Almond extract
- 2 teaspoons Baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup Milk
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup, chopped toasted almonds
Instructions

Step 1:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla bean seeds and almond extract.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture.

Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

In a bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue to whip until stiff peaks form.

Once the cake has cooled, slice it in half horizontally. Spread a layer of frosting between the two layers and then frost the top and sides of the cake.
